Gerly Hey has over 10 years of experience in research within the area of water and environmental engineering. She has been involved in national and international research projects on persistent organic pollutants such as polychlorinated biphenyls, pesticides and active pharmaceutical ingredients in wastewater. She has been working with chemical oxidation techniques such as ozonation and advanced oxidation processes (AOPs), including development of analytical methods and toxicity assessment. Recently, she has been involved in the development of method for extraction of microplastics in wastewater.
